According to foreign media reports, following the September this year, has announced with Coriant, Nokia and ZTE Sign 5G and IoT cooperation agreement, the Indian state-owned telecom operator BSNL will sign a similar MOU with Ericsson next month.
It is reported that based on the cooperation agreement in September this year, several companies will help BSNL build its 5G and IoT architecture strategy and service innovation, including SDN, NFV and mobile edge technologies.
"To continue exploring the evolution of 5G and the Internet of Things, we have signed MOUs with Nokia, ZTE and Coriant and we are now in a similar partnership with Ericsson," said Anupam Shrivastava, managing director of BSNL. "The negotiations are over and we will announce the cooperation agreement soon."
He added: "If you talk about the development of 5G, fast, then come in a year later, then slow down to three years."
In the meantime, Ericsson recently confirmed that it has been in talks with Indian telcos about 5G development. The company said it has signed 36 5G cooperation agreements with global telecom operators.
