The German Federation of Broadband Operators (Breko) released its sixth annual broadband report, renamed the "Fiber Compass." Among them, introduced all kinds of fiber expansion project of more than 170 network operators in Germany, as well as other technical information about the deployment of optical network. The report also includes high-level politicians from Germany and the EU that contribute to the broadband issue.
The report found that over 82% of fiber-optic installations in Germany (FTTB / FTTH) were undertaken by non-mainstream network operators. It is estimated that by 2020, Breko's network operators will have about 5 million households and businesses that have access to high-speed broadband, which is currently around 1.5 million. It is estimated that by 2025 Germany will have 28 million homes connected to fiber-optic networks.
